I'm currently trying to maintain a small "Tumblelog" with a random name at Tumblr.
Biography
I'm 21 years old, and live in the Netherlands.
I've got interests in the politics/social sciences and related
subjects, and participate in politics to some
extent through my membership of the Democrats '66 political party and
the Young Democrats youth party.
Hobbies I pursue in my free time include but
are not neccessarily limited to playing the piano in an amateur Big Band, photography, painting, reading, going out and
cycling.

About Politiekblog.com
Politiekblog.com is a domain shared with a friend of mine, as a hub for
various projects of ours. Politiekblog (old name: Poliblog) used to be
a fairly active (example)
and somewhat well-visited dutch politics weblog but has since been a
bit left in the dust (and has lost all its postings a couple of times).
It's recently been restarted. I'm proud we have achieved a little:
- We've been mentioned in the dutch student magazine sum.nl
- A
link to the blog has also been featured in educational material about
web journalism from the University of Amsterdam (Albert Benschop -
Weblog: een doe-het-zelf medium)
- We've in the past posted interviews (done by Mathijs the
Jong & others) with some of NL's leading politicians, like Boris
Dittrich (political leader of D'66) and Frank de Grave (ex-Minister of
Defense).
Websites I've helped create or lead at the moment (Portfolio of sorts)
- Politiekblog - Dutch political weblog
- Politiekblog English - English (now inactive) political weblog
- Jazz2Online
- (Main coder, project leader & founder) Web portal for a game, +4600
members. Features several sections: downloads, wiki encyclopedia,
pictures, news, community weblog, articles and links. Sports a control
panel and member management system. Sections all based on homegrown code by
development team.
- JCF - (Administrator) Forum for the same game, +2200 members
- J2LC - Level/tileset creation group
- jcs.REF - Level/tileset creation resource (now inactive)
Various other projects/commissions I've done:
- Creation of backend code for various high-traffic websites, utilising new technology such as the Zend Framework.
- Creation of frontend and backend for an automated
painter's galleries system for web development firm, utilising
homegrown template library
- Temporarily served as member of the phpBB forum development group (during version 1) & contributed code for read vs. unread thread images
- Participated
in testing and development of various features of the xBB (Extendible
Bulletin Board) system (based on PHP) which has since been discontinued by its
main developer.
- Created and improved library to automatically parse and layout database contents to various output formats and various form libraries (PHP) used in
commercial context by a web development firm
- Participating in development and creation of a Pearl Harbor Movie community at Cinemenium.com. (now offline)
